अध्यक्षांचे मनोगत
In 2028, the biggest stage we have belongs to the talent that has grown up among us.
The BMM Convention has always been the place where Marathi North America comes together. For 2028, my vision is simple. The actors, musicians, writers, dancers and young performers who live in our own cities, and who keep Marathi alive in our mandals week after week, deserve more than a side stage.
North America programming will be at the heart of this convention. Plays written and rehearsed in our own communities, music made in our own homes, and a generation that grew up here and still chooses Marathi will have more time and more prominence than ever before.
We will also welcome artists and programs from India, as we always have. The two belong together: the roots that tie us to Maharashtra, and everything that has flowered from them on this continent.
So I invite every mandal and every artist to start thinking now about what you will bring. This convention is yours.
Shri. Rahul Deshmukh, President, BMM

What is the BMM Convention?
अधिवेशन म्हणजे काय?
Every two years, Marathi families from across the United States and Canada come together in one city for a long weekend of theater, music, literature, food and friendship. It is the largest gathering of the Marathi community in North America, hosted each time by a local mandal and run almost entirely by volunteers.
Natak, music and literature
Plays, concerts, interviews and talks with well-known artists, writers and speakers from Maharashtra.
Programs by our own mandals
Plays, dance and music staged by member mandals from across North America, from the opening ceremony to the last curtain.
BMM honors
Recognition for community members in arts and literature, science, business, community service, youth achievement and Marathi Shala.
Conferences within the convention
Past conventions have included Uttarrang for seniors, a business conference and continuing medical education sessions.
Traditions and competitions
Granth Dindi, dhol-tasha, and contests in singing, art and photography have all been part of recent conventions.
A new chapter for BMM
BMM's leadership serves a two-year term that follows the convention cycle, so each convention also marks a handover.
More than forty years of conventions
